Overview

Matthew Hennessy-Gibbs, a legal 500 endorsed partner within Keystone Law’s Commercial Litigation team engaged TrialView to support the early-stage preparation for a complex arbitration. The matter involved thousands of documents that needed to be analysed quickly and accurately to inform the drafting of a defence to a complicated claim.

Matthew Hennessy-Gibbs, Partner - Keystone Law: “We had a substantial task. Thousands of emails, letters, contracts and agreements were provided by our client without any structure. TrialView’s Case Intelligence tool was able to process, classify and date everything in minutes. Then using their Ask AI functionality, we were able to identify the best evidence for our case, exhibit it and append it to a very complex pleading set. It was a real game changer.”

The challenge

The lawyers were faced with reviewing a huge number of documents, and the team needed to identify all the contradictions and key facts for their case under tight deadlines. These also needed to be completed while avoiding the accuracy and hallucination issues found in other platforms.

Additionally, the lawyers working on the case alongside Matthew (Ben Crowley and Molly Andrews) needed a solution that could interrogate documents reliably, surface relevant information instantly, and avoid the hallucination issues they had encountered elsewhere.

The solution

Using the TrialView’s Case Intelligence feature, the  lawyers asked natural-language questions and received precise, evidence-based answers. This allowed them to surface key facts and contradictions in minutes, quickly building a factual foundation for their defence and streamlining their legal strategy.

The accuracy of the system, particularly the absence of hallucinations, was a standout benefit for the team. With benchmarking shown north of 95% accuracy rates the team were able to stand behind the AI results provided.

The impact

The use of TrialView in this matter demonstrated how AI can transform arbitration preparation by accelerating document analysis, improving accuracy, and enabling lawyers to focus on strategy rather than manual review. The platform delivered results that other tools could not match, giving the team a clearer, faster path to building their defence.

Hear from the team

Ben Crowley, Partner - Keystone Law:

“TrialView’s AI was excellent for analysing documents and producing summaries and chronologies and getting to the key facts fast. It gave us precision at a stage where time really mattered.”

Molly Andrews, Associate - Keystone Law:

“It gave us clarity fast. Instead of digging through documents one by one, we could pinpoint the important points immediately and verify the answers we were getting. It made the preparation process far more efficient.”
