London
Following the global shift to remote work and virtual proceedings, DAC Beachcroft’s Dublin office, a leading international law firm, recognised the need for a robust and reliable digital platform. The firm sought a solution that could not only adapt to the new reality of virtual hearings but also provide a strategic advantage in managing the growing court backlog. With a focus on efficiency, security, and versatility, the firm’s Professional, Public & Regulatory Team, headed by Gary Rice, chose TrialView as their go-to platform for a full range of legal disputes.
The Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns in Ireland led to a significant increase in virtual proceedings. While successful, this new reality presented challenges, including the need to manage a substantial backlog of cases and to find a secure, reliable, and all-encompassing digital platform. The legal team at DAC Beachcroft needed a solution that was not only fit for purpose in the short term but could also serve as a long-term strategic asset, enabling them to expedite cases across various legal areas and offer a higher level of service to their clients.
The Solution

DAC Beachcroft chose to adopt TrialView as its primary platform for conducting inquiries, hearings, and other legal proceedings. The solution was praised for its comprehensive, end-to-end functionality. As Senior Associate Niall Sexton noted, “This is a game changer for many of our clients. The platform provides a one-stop shop for everything we need to conduct inquires and hearings. We’re able to speed up litigation and hearings that would otherwise have to wait for another platform to become available, and it’s a way of working smarter and more securely than on many of the other virtual platforms out there.”

The versatility of the platform was a key factor in its adoption. Commercial Litigation Partner Lisa Broderick confirmed that:
"The applications of TrialView stretch beyond inquiries. It is also very suitable for commercial litigation and mediations and to use as a secure data rooms in crisis situations. It’s a very exciting technology and provides a solution with countless benefits for our clients.”
This adaptability provided a single, unified solution for a variety of the firm’s needs, reinforcing its strategic value.
The Outcome
By having TrialView in place, DAC Beachcroft was able to push ahead with hearings and trials, significantly reducing the impact of the court backlog.

Gary Rice, Head of DAC Beachcroft Dublin’s Professional, Public & Regulatory Team, commented on the tangible benefits of the platform:
“Following COVID-related lockdowns in Ireland, many hearings are now taking place remotely. Virtual hearings have been successful, so it’s possible that these types of hearings will continue to be a feature of the Irish legal system in the longer term. Having TrialView in place means that, with the agreement of the judge and the opposing side, we can push ahead with hearings and trials, saving our clients, the courts and all parties involved a significant amount of time – particularly given the current backlog in the courts.”
TrialView’s role as the platform of choice for leading, global law firms for the full lifecycle of a dispute- from mediation and inquiries to trials and arbitrations - was cemented by this successful, firm-wide adoption.
